Why a Great Clean Fades

Nobody’s carpet stays perfect, and it has nothing to do with the quality of the clean. On the day we leave, the pile is lifted, the colours are back, and the room smells of Gold Musk. Then life carries on, exactly as it should.

The school shoes come back through the hall. The dog finds his favourite spot in front of the sofa again. The traffic lanes between the door and the kitchen start their slow return, because they’re the routes everyone walks ten times a day.

In our experience, the rooms a family actually lives in begin drifting from that day-one standard within a few months. That isn’t a failure of the clean. It’s evidence the home is being lived in.

Maintain or Rescue?

There are two ways to look after carpets and soft furnishings, and they end in very different places.

The first is the rescue. Let it slide for two or three years, then book a deep clean once the traffic lanes are grey and the sofa arms have gone dark.

It works, and we do plenty of them, but the carpet spends most of its life below the standard you paid for, and ground-in soil is harder on the fibre the longer it sits there.

The second is little and often. Keep the home at the standard with light maintenance cleans before the wear ever builds up. Each visit is smaller, the home never really slips, and what we see on jobs is that carpets maintained this way simply look better for longer.

What Membership Actually Includes

No small print to squint at. Membership is three things, and every tier includes all of them.

  • Three light maintenance visits a year, roughly every four months, planned around you. The visit that catches the traffic lanes before they show and keeps the whole home at the standard.
  • Up to three emergency spot call-outs a year. The glass of red that goes over at a dinner party, the accident the dog is very sorry about. You call, we come out.
  • 50% member price on any extra work. The sofa, a rug, a mattress, an extra room: anything beyond your plan is charged at the member price.

Picture the year it buys you. In spring we’re in for a maintenance visit before Easter guests arrive. In the summer holidays the kids and the garden do their worst, and the autumn visit lifts it all out.

When the wine goes over at a birthday dinner in November, it’s one phone call, not a frantic scrub with whatever is under the sink. That is the whole idea: the home simply stays at the standard, and it stops being something you think about.

Members tend to share it

When a member refers a friend who books, £50 of credit goes onto the member’s account (credit toward their plan or extra work, never cash), and the friend gets a welcome value-add on their first clean. Nobody has to sell anything. Most referrals start with someone asking why the carpet always looks new.

Every member understands this one instantly, because every home has had the moment. It’s a Saturday evening, the house is full, and a glass of red goes over on the lounge carpet. Everyone freezes. Someone reaches for the salt, someone else for the kitchen roll, and whatever happens next usually decides whether that stain is there for good.

For members, that moment changes shape. Blot it with a dry cloth, then call us. An emergency spot call-out means we come out and treat it properly: the right product for the stain, at the right dilution, extracted back out rather than scrubbed in.

Members have up to three of these call-outs a year, and in our experience the stains that get professional attention quickly are the ones that leave no trace.

It isn’t only wine. It’s the dog after a muddy walk, the toddler with the juice cup, the coffee that missed the table. The point of the Club is that none of it has to become a permanent feature of the carpet.
