You’re booked in, and the day is nearly here. Most people quietly wonder how it will actually go: when we arrive, what we do first, how long it all takes. So here is the whole visit, start to finish, with nothing left to guess.

You’ll know where we are, what we’re doing, and what it costs, at every step.
We arrive in your window, walk the rooms with you, confirm your price exactly as quoted, then clean room by room and walk you round the result before we leave.

Before We Arrive
Your booking comes with an arrival window rather than a vague “sometime that day”. On the morning of your clean we plan the route, and we call you when we’re on our way, so you’re not watching the window or stuck in all day waiting.
When the van pulls up, we bring the equipment in carefully, protecting the entrance as we go. There’s very little for you to do before then, but a few small things make the day run smoothly.
- Clear small items off the floors: ornaments, toys, anything fragile
- We’ll move the furniture that needs moving, you don’t have to
- A parking spot near the door helps us get set up quickly
- Pets are no problem, just let us know so we can be careful

The Walk-Through, and Your Price Confirmed
Before any equipment comes near a carpet, we walk the rooms with you. It’s the most important ten minutes of the day.
You show us what matters: the traffic lanes, the stain that’s been bothering you, the sofa arm the dog favours. We look at the fibre types, check anything delicate, and agree exactly what’s being cleaned. If you mentioned anything when you booked, this is where we look at it properly.
This is also where your price is confirmed, and it’s confirmed as quoted. The walk-through is not a renegotiation. Once we’ve seen the rooms and agreed the work, the price quoted is the price paid, and that’s the number on your invoice at the end of the day.
Before we clean anything, we test our products on a small hidden area of your carpet or upholstery and check the result. It confirms the fibre is colour-safe and shows us exactly how it will respond, before we commit to the room. Our products are WoolSafe-approved, and the spot test is how we prove they suit your home specifically.
Protecting Your Home
While the spot test settles, we set up. Furniture that needs to move is moved by us, and anything we move goes back. Where furniture stays in place, we protect it: pads under the legs so nothing sits directly on damp fibre while it dries.
The route through your home gets the same care. We keep hoses and cables tidy along one line, we’re careful at skirting boards, door frames and stair edges, and we treat the rooms we’re not cleaning as off-limits. It should look like we were never there, apart from the carpets.

The Clean, Step by Step
Every room follows the same sequence. It’s the reason the result holds up, and it’s why a proper clean takes longer than a quick once-over.
Inspect & Spot TestWe check the fibre and test a hidden area, so nothing is a gamble.
Dry VacuumThe Kirby dry vacuum lifts out the dry soil first, where most of the dirt actually is.
AgitateWe work the pile to loosen the ground-in dirt that walking has pressed down.
Pre-SprayA treatment at the correct dilution starts breaking down grease and marks.
Hot Water ExtractionThe Enforcer 400 rinses the fibre and pulls the soil and moisture straight back out.
Dry PodsMoving air goes onto the carpet immediately, so drying starts before we’ve finished.
Gold Musk DeodoriseOur signature finishing scent, included free on every clean.
Gold Guard (Optional)A protective layer that helps carpets resist the next spill, only if you choose it.
GroomWe set the pile so it dries evenly and looks its best when you walk back in.
You don’t need to supervise any of it. Stay, head out, work from the kitchen table, whatever suits your day. If we find anything unexpected under a sofa or behind a door, we come and ask before we act.

How Long the Visit Takes
It depends on the rooms, the fibre and how hard the carpets have been living, so we’d rather give you a straight guide than a false precise number. In our experience, a lounge and a flight of stairs usually takes around two hours. A whole house is closer to half a day.
We work to a standard, not to a clock. If a traffic lane needs a second pass, it gets one. We’ll give you our best estimate for your rooms at the walk-through, so you can plan the rest of your day around it.
A Question Before The Day?
Parking, pets, timings, or a stain you’d like us to look at first: tell us now and it’s handled before we arrive.
The Drying Handover
The last part of the visit is done together. Before we pack up, we walk every room with you, socks on, so you can see the result up close while we’re still there. If anything catches your eye, we deal with it then and there, not after a phone call next week.
The carpets will feel slightly damp to the touch, which is exactly right. Drying usually takes around four hours, though it can range from one to twelve depending on the material and the airflow. If timing matters for your household, ask about same-day dry as a priority.
- Keep to socks until the carpet is fully dry; shoes and bare feet can mark damp fibre
- Open windows and keep the air moving to carry off the last of the moisture
- Leave the pads under furniture legs in place until everything is dry
- Pets and children back on once it’s dry, usually about four hours
After We Leave
The visit ends. The guarantee doesn’t. Once everything is fully dry, have a proper look at each room in daylight. If anything we cleaned isn’t right, tell us, and we’ll come back and put it right, free of charge, until you’re 100% satisfied. That is the Golden Guarantee, and it’s a re-clean promise, in writing.
Reaching us is simple: reply to any of our emails or messages, or use the Call and WhatsApp buttons on this page to get straight through to your local line.
You’ll know when we’re arriving. Your price is confirmed as quoted before any work starts. The clean follows the same careful sequence in every room. And you walk the result with us before we leave. That’s the whole day.

Why Prestige Refresh
When customers tell us why they chose us, the same four reasons come up. They’re the standard we hold every visit to, including yours.

Quick Answers
What time will you arrive on the day?
Your booking comes with an arrival window, agreed when you booked. On the day, we call you when we’re on our way, so you’re not waiting at the window or stuck in all morning.
I expected one machine and a quick once-over. It was a whole sequence, and you could see the difference room by room.
Do I need to move furniture before the clean?
No. Clear small items off the floors, ornaments, toys, anything fragile, and we’ll move the furniture that needs moving. Anything we move goes back once the area is ready. A parking spot near the door also helps us set up quickly.
Will the price change on the day?
No. At the start of the visit we walk the rooms with you and confirm your price exactly as quoted, before any work begins. The price quoted is the price paid.
How long before I can walk on the carpets?
We do a socks-on walkthrough with you before we leave, so you see every room straight away. Keep to socks until the carpet is fully dry, usually around four hours, though it can range from one to twelve depending on the material. Same-day dry is available as a priority where timing matters.
